Dressed to Kill
Despite being our poorest president, Truman had all of his suits tailor-made and was always impeccably dressed. He never really stopped being that haberdashery owner from Missouri. Truman was so dedicated to his formal appearance, that his measurements are publicly known.
Almost 100 years earlier, and 800 miles apart, with an even more modest upbringing, Andrew Johnson opened his own tailoring shop where people would use as a meeting place to talk about issues and local politics.
Both men went on to lead the country after two of the biggest wars in our history.
