This was supposed to be Monday’s comic (I was going to set it in a different location), but then the Democratic donor class won their little social experiment, so here we are.

Panel 1: Andrew Jackson says to a group of scattered Democrats on the White House north lawn, "Fellow Democratic Party Elites! We need a new plan! Our party must win in November! TO SAVE DEMOCRACY!
Panel 2: Franklin Roosevelt says "Why are the polls down? Don't these voters know what's at stake?" A random democrat (donkey) pipes up "Do they not get that Democracy, itself, is at risk?"
Panel 3: Barack Obama pops in "We may have to choose a new candidate for them." Roosevelt says with a smile, "Democracy is too important to be trusted to voters."
